A bright spot in the day...

I don't really talk too much about my work on here, but I would guess that some have figured out that I am in the hospitality industry in the DC. Yes, there are a few smart web users who have figured that out.

Well this week marks the end of a chapter in my career as I leave one hotel and begin next week at another.

I met with my new boss (new leader) this morning and I am stoked to get going on Monday. A new hotel is always a new challenge. Even when the operation works well there are ALWAYS areas that can be improved through new approaches and new outlooks. I AM READY! (ok a bit over enthusiastic, but hey it's something new

I have spent (almost two years) at an economical hotel in DC where I have done HR, Accounting, Revenue/Reservations, Guest Relations, Employee Relations, and total responsibility for the operation (luckily I have had a sales manager who has assisted me on many of these activities, and I think she would make a great replacement for me). It has been an AWESOME learning experience, and the company I work(ed) for made it even better because they gave support when needed, but also let me do what needed to be done as I saw fit.

Well enough about my new job giddiness, you may hear more so don't be surprised.
