Well I must say that we really went to town on all the crap we (mostly me) have been collecting since the beginning of time.
Half of my clothing is going to Goodwill and I haven't even looked at the sweaters yet.
It was quite nice to read (yes, read) letters that my friends and I had sent back and forth to each other. Strange as it seems there really was a time before the internet and instant communication. Just seems so weird to actually see letters written, and I am had some friends who really enjoyed writing. The letters would go on for pages. I did have to keep some of them. Probably more to prove to myself that I did have friends at one point. But some were really touching, written during special moments (or crises depending on ones outlook.)
Am still finding photos and other assorted items to be scanned in. I was able to consolidate 4 boxes of "stuff" into one plastic organizer. So at least its only one thing to lug around instead of 4.
We also found a set of nice glasses that belonged to Mark's mother that we had wrapped up when we were moving from our apartment in Alexandria, VA to the condo we bought in Lorton in 1994. They haven't seen the light of day until yesterday. They got a good once through in the dishwasher and now we just have to figure out where to put them in our storage challenged house.
There is still a little bit more to go, but you can tell that the house is happy that we reduced the weight load it was bearing.
